Ravel: String Quartet in F
Chausson: Chanson perpétuelle

The acclaimed Sacconi Quartet open their festival residency with Ravel’s youthful string quartet. The work represented Ravel’s first major success, and draws a joyful array of sonorities from the ensemble.
Chausson’s sorrowful Chanson perpétuelle introduces award-winning soprano Ailish Tynan to the festival audience, while festival co-artistic director Martin Roscoe joins the quartet for the impassioned Piano Quintet by Chausson’s teacher, César Franck.
