Mary Bevan and Marcus Farnsworth sing settings of Shakespeare texts, to mark the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death.
Interspersed with these songs are spoken extracts of Shakespeare read by Richard Avery.
The programme also includes Benjamin Britten’s evocative Lachyrmae for viola and piano, played by Simon Tandree and Libby Burgess, based on the music of John Dowland who was Shakespeare’s contemporary.
Find out more about musical Shakespeare settings in our pre-concert talk at 2:30pm.
