Cellist: Cara Berridge

Baritone: Marcus Farnsworth

We are delighted that baritone Marcus Farnsworth will be singing the great song cylce Dichterliebe at the closing concert of the festival; in this clip he sings Gurney’s song Sleep, at his own festival in Southwell, with our Artistic Director Libby Burgess on piano:

Organist: Richard Pinel

Festival organist Richard Pinel has recently released his debut disc ‘L’Orgue Symphonique: French Organ Works from Windsor Castle’. Recorded by Resonus Classic on the Harrison and Harrison organ of St George’s Chapel Windsor, this is a virtuosic and beautiful recording.

See here for further details or to purchase a copy.

Here is Richard playing the Coronation March ‘Orb and Sceptre’ by William Walton on the same instrument:

Soprano: Mary Bevan

Festival artist Mary Bevan is currently singing in Gilbert & Sullivan favourite The Mikado at English National Opera, with the Guardian claiming “Mary Bevan’s is the vocal adornment of the evening”.

Take a look here at Mary singing in the recent Royal Opera House / Roundhouse production of Monteverdi’s masterpiece, Orfeo.

Here she is singing the effervescent Quilter song, Love’s Philosophy:
