Dear all,

Our POSTCARDS series was filmed as we emerged from the first lockdown, so there is an appropriate symmetry to our releasing the final video now, as we settle into the autumnal pace of lockdown version 2.

The series draws to a close, fittingly, with an evening song: Debussy’s pensive Beau Soir.

It has been a joy to share with you these musical reflections on the beautiful town of Beverley, which New Paths is so lucky to call its home.

The full library of POSTCARDS videos is available to view here:

These films are also available on our social media channels. Please do spread the videos far and wide! We’re thrilled that they’ve so far been enjoyed by thousands of viewers (thank you to Classic FM for sharing one of them on Facebook this week, where it has now been viewed 14,000 times!).

Did you know…?
To be sure you’re viewing our videos in the highest quality, you can click on the settings icon in your YouTube browser, and select Quality: 1080HD.

The eagle-eyed amongst you will notice that we originally set out to release eight videos. There is in fact one more film sitting in reserve, but a long-winded copyright negotiation means we’re not yet in a position to release it. Hopefully that film will follow in due course, as a postscript! But for now we draw this series to a close, and thank you all for your support.

We are honoured to have worked with such a fantastic team on these videos: Matthew Bennett (Audio Producer), Dave Rowell (Audio Engineer), Jessie Rodger (Director/Camera), Luca Migliore (Camera Assistant / Second Camera), and Mark Atkinson (Graphic Design) – plus of course our fabulous group of musicians joining Libby: Aoife Miskelly (soprano), Johnny Herford (baritone) and Leo Popplewell (cello). Huge thanks to the Vicar and team at Beverley Minster for allowing us to film in the building over the summer.

We took the decision to release these films for free, introducing New Paths and the town of Beverley to the maximum possible audience at this strange time. Making video material is expensive, though, so we are hugely touched by the many donations we have received to offset these costs, and to help us plan a future series.

If you have enjoyed the POSTCARDS series, please consider making a donation. Donations can be made online:

We have very much enjoyed hearing from people who have relished these POSTCARDS, and are thrilled to know that this combination of music and place has captured people’s imaginations. We very much look forward to combining music and place in person again in 2021! But for now, we wish you health and happiness through this unusual time, and hope you will enjoy revisiting these films during this next lockdown.

With all best wishes,

Roland and Libby
