The New Paths flagship spring festival was launched in 2016 and has quickly established itself as one of the most important and exciting new festivals in the land. New Paths sees Beverley hosting concerts, community events and sparkling music-making by some of the country’s finest singers, chamber musicians and organists, with our trademark combination of world-class concerts and feet-on-the-ground community involvement, reaching out to children, to old people, and to all corners of the town.
Founded by former Minster chorister Roland Deller, and artistically directed by pianist Libby Burgess, New Paths has attracted national interest for its bold programming, its wonderful venues, and the beautiful town of Beverley itself, which combine to make this an unmissable festival. The joyful buzz of New Paths comes from the passion and energy of our performers, but also from the warmth and commitment of the audience.
Dedicated to the memory of the late Alan Spedding, long-time Director of Music at the Minster, New Paths draws on his superlative musicianship and his tireless generosity in sharing it with others. New Paths, as a charity, is committed to a vigorous presence of music in our culture: we believe that music enriches lives and we strive to bring music to all corners of the community.
The 2019 festival dates are 4th – 7th April. Book the days in your diary now! Sign up to our mailing list here for further updates as they become available.
